PROJECTS

The scriptures tell us that mission is the activity of a loving, caring God who desires that all people have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Furthermore, mission is a natural aspect of any Christian lifestyle and needs to be incorporated into the ongoing life of every congregation.     -Taken from Steps for the Leader of Missions in the Local Church

Our congregation participates in many outreach activities and projects:

Food Pantry
We are one of several churches who support the Hope Food Pantry, which is located at Trinity United Methodist Church. We encourage all who attend our services to bring
some food for our collection each time they come to the church. Those who wish to contribute money for others to buy the food may do so by including their contribution with the offering and marking it "Food Pantry".

The following items are always needed:
Baby food, diapers, formula
Canned or packaged food not needing refrigeration.

St. Luke Infant Care Center

Helping those affected by Hurricane Katrina
In addition to our local church project, individually, our members are donating and working in a variety of ways. See our list of resources and information.

Care Packages for the local Red Cross
These packages include toiletries and small items, such as socks, for Austin people displaced from their homes by fires.

Comfort Kits for Homeless People
These kits contain non-perishable food items and small toiletries.

Volunteer as a group: Hands On Housing, CROP Walk

St. Luke Cookbook

Meals for Families at Thanksgiving

Birthday Party for Jesus
Sponsored by the children. Gifts of various baby items, including diapers, are gathered and donated to the Food Pantry.
